Touch Trust Sessions

The initial success of the Touch Trust programme has been achieved through a simple structure, which provides security and safety for guests to explore their own sounds and movements in a person-centred, nurturing and supportive environment

A typical session is led by trained session leaders and involves relaxation through touch, massage and personal interaction and an exploration of sounds, movement and dance using a variety of music and lighting to create a joyful, enlivened and positive atmosphere.

Touch Trust nurtures the development of its Guests through praising all of their achievements, with the belief that “where they are is right”.

This touch-based, creative movement education and dance programme promotes:

"It is very difficult to imagine how touch trust sessions affect people until you have actually been in the room and experienced it..."

"We have been waiting twenty years for this. The last breakthrough was with communication, this Touch Trust work is as important as that". (Manager, Rhondda Cynon Taf)

"As the session progressed I could feel all the tension draining out of me and instead I felt warm, secure and incredibly happy - and I was supposed to be there to help."
(Jeni Willey – Volunteer)

"A is much more aware of her body, making good eye contact and is thriving in the positive environment that Touch Trust has created for her." (Guest’s Mother)

"I am so grateful fo these sessions, they have not only helped me learn to have more fun with the kids and chill out a bit more, but also helped me understand my children better." (Guest's Mother)

"Touch Trust has now become the highlight of “X’s” week." (Carer)

"Matthew used to appear to either ignore or be disturbed by a lot of the world around him. Having the sustained interest, patience and praise of the Touch Trust session leaders has given him confidence to use his voice more and to make more connections with people not just in the sessions but in the rest of his life." (Rachel - Carer)

"The session tonight was amazing! Really extra great fun!" (Guest's Mother)
